Agra

For cultural sightseeing, one of the most traveled and a revered destination for travelers is Agra, which is located 200 kms from Delhi. In Agra lies the famed Taj Mahal, the ultimate symbol of love built by Shah Jahan after the death of his wife, queen Mumtaz. Surrounded by graceful gardens and fountains, the Taj Mahal is a sanctuary and a must-see site.
Near Agra is the Fatehpur Sikri, the red sandstone capital of Emperor Akbar. The original city is built in Red sandstone, creating an original and unique exhibiting classic Indian architecture. Agra is famous for its marble manufacturing.

DAY 1: Delhi - Agra

After an early breakfast, leave for Agra which is 250 kms from Delhi and about a four hour drive. Reach Agra and check in at the Hotel. Post lunch you will be taken to visit the famous monument of love-Taj Mahal. This most famous Mughal monument was constructed by Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died while giving birth to his 14th child and after just 17 yrs of marriage. It has been described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love. The central structure has four small domes surrounding the huge central dome. Taj Mahal is not open to visitors on Fridays.
After Taj Mahal, visit the Agra Fort which lies on the bend of the river Yamuna, almost in the heart of town. It was built by Emperor Akbar as his citadel over the years 1563-73 in the finest architectural style. It has imposing gates and walls of red sandstone and a moat. Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 2: Agra - Jaipur

The drive from Agra to Jaipur takes about 4 hours as the distance is 238 kms. After breakfast visit Fatehpur Sikri enroute to Jaipur. Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the 16th century. Upon arrival at Jaipur check in at the Hotel and rest for a while. visit City Palace in the heart of the old city which is the former royal residence that houses a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes and an armoury of the Mughals and the Rajputs. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3: Jaipur to Delhi

After breakfast visit Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory, the largest of Jai Singh's five remarkable observatories. Also visit the landmark of the 'Pink City' Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds, built to enable the ladies of the royal household to watch the processions passing in the street without being seen.
Post Lunch visit the famous Amber Fort and Palace en route to Delhi.
The fort is a striking example of Rajput architecture situated on a hill side and overlooking a lake, which reflects the fort's ramparts and terraces. Here you will be taken on an elephant back, in the traditional royal style to the main gate of the Fort and back. Reach Delhi by late evening.

Day 1:
In the morning drive to Haridwar and reach by early afternoon.Visit the Mansa Devi and Chandi Mata temple and the Har Ki Pauri.Also witness the evening Ganga Aarti at the Har Ki Pauri.Continue to Rishikesh a short distance away.

Day 2:
After breakfast see the Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula. While in Rishikesh also worth a visit is the elephant sanctuary at the rakjaji national park.Visit the national park and continue towards Delhi to arrive by late evening.

Delhi - Vrindavan - Mathura - Agra - Varanasi - Delhi

Day 1:
Leave Delhi in the morning and reach Vrindavan to see the ISCON temple.Visit the temple of Lord Krishmna where you will find thousands of devotees praying in praise of Lord Krishna.The ambious is very pious and serene with the air filled with chants of Lord Krishna.
Continue further to towards Mathura and visit the all new marble temple of Jaiguru dev.Later visit the temple where Lord Krishna was born in Mathura and the mosque attached to it, built in the 17th century by the mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Continue to Agra .

Day 2:
After breakfast proceed to see the Agra Fort built by Akbar in 1567 where Shahjahan was imprisoned by his own son Aurangzeb.
Then continue to Taj Mahal. A must see with the rising sun as it is bathed with the golden rays of the morning sun.
Built by ShahJahan , the Taj is a white marble memorial for his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. The monument took 22 years to be completed .Later visit the tomb of Itmad ud Daulah , the finance minister of the mughals and the father of Noor jehan,Jehangir's wife.It is the 1st mughal building built completely of marble.Then visit Sikandara the tomb of the great emperor Akbar.
Return to Delhi by evening.

Delhi - Varanasi - Delhi :

Day 1:
Drive to Varanasi, the holiest of Hindu pilgrim cities, on the banks of the sacred Ganges River.
Arrive at the Daswamedh Ghat and take a boat ride on the sacred river Ganges to see the cremation Ghats and witness the living traditions of one of the world's oldest and most important religions. watch the Hindu's devotional bathing in the Ganges. You'll observe hundreds of pilgrims gathered at the river's edge, some practicing yoga, others meditating, still others bathing fully clothed.

Visit some of the many Hindu temples that line the river Ganges. Stroll along the narrow lanes and bazaars full of shops selling, among other things, the world famous Benaras Silks.
Some famous temples in Varanasi are Durga temple, Vishwanath temple, Sankat Mochan temple, Tulsi Manas temple and the Bharat Mata temple

Day 2:
Visit SARNATH, 5 miles out of Varanasi - one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world, where Buddha first spoke of his philosophy in 590 B.C.
Here you will witness the ruins of a once flourishing Buddhist monastery and can visit a fine Museum which houses an excellent collection of Buddhist art and sculptures found at the site

DAY 1: Delhi - Amritsar : 435 kms

Leave early morning from Delhi
Early evening visit Wagah Border to watch Border Retreat. The pageant of the beating of the retreat and the change of guard within handshaking distance of the Indian and Pakistani forces.It is amazing and makes the most charming spectacle of a daily evening drill with the waving of flags and the audience getting into a frenzy and shouting slogans on both sides.Wagah is the only land border open between India and Pakistan.

Evening tour to the famous Golden Temple the most sacred temple for the Sikhs, as the view at night is completely mesmerizing. It is a symbol of the magnificence and strength of the Sikh people all over the world.
Dinner at a restaurant in the city and Overnight at the hotel

Day 2:
Visit the Jallianwala Bagh famous for the most notorious massacre that took place during the times of the British and which shook up the sentiments of all Indians. The British General Dyer was the Lieutenant Governor of the province in the year 1919 and had banned all meetings and demonstrations by the Indians against the British rule. On the fateful day of 13th April 1919, as the Sikhs had gathered in these open grounds to celebrate Baisakhi (a Punjabi Festival), General Dyer led his troops to the park, blocked the narrow entrance and exit point of the garden and commanded them to open fire without any warning. Hundreds of innocent people got killed and thousands were injured. Today the park holds testimony to all that it had witnessed in the past. There are bullet marks on the walls, the well where many women and children lost their lives while running in panic, and the exact place where General Dyer stood to give his orders has been marked. A memorial has also been built for all those who lost their lives.

Also visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Museum which has been built in his summer palace and contains weapons dating back to the Mughal times and some portraits of the ruling houses of Punjab and a replica of the famous diamond 'kohinoor'.

Delhi to Simla 343 Km ( 10 hrs)
Leave Delhi early morning arriving Simla late afternoon.Proceed to sight seeing of Lakar Bazar,The ridge,The Glen,jakhoo,Prospect hill and Kamna devi.

Day 2 :

Day 3:
Proceed to Manali ( 260 kms/8 hrs) and visit Hadimba temple, Manu temple, Vashisht.
